WET SYSTEMS PRODUCT DETAILS FOR LTV-1500

Vane-type (Chevron) Vertical Mist Eliminator

The LTV-1500 is a vane-type (Chevron) mist eliminator design specifically for vertical flow. The use of drain bars in the vane geometry permits high than normal velocity and thus the capture of smaller droplets. The design combines high liquid capture capacity and low pressure drop.

Advantages:

  • Low pressure drop at high velocity

  • Efficient separation of droplets 35 microns or larger

  • Mist eliminator panels easy to install

  • Retrofits easily into existing towers

Material of Construction:

  • High temperature Polypropylene

Operating Range:

  • Face velocity: 2 to 6 m/s; standard design 4 m/s

  • Limit drop size: 35+ microns

  • Efficiency: 99.9% at limit drop size

  • Performance data shown in curves is f (face velocity) at standard gas density (1.2 kg / cubic metre)
Actual performance is based on actual process data
    (Conversion: 1 m/s ~ 200 ft/min; 1 mbar ~ 0.4" WG)

Applications:

  • Vertical flow gas scrubbers, spray towers, spray chambers, acid cooling towers, evaporators, evaporative crystallizers

  • Flue gas desulphirzation scrubbers

We supply:

  • Mist eliminator modules assembled to fit customer housings, either new or existing installations

  • Complete mist eliminator units with housing and all necessary accessories

Principle of Operation:

Specially designed vane geometry causes the gas flow to make sudden changes in direction. The inertial forces cause the entrained droplets to be collected on the vane surface Drain bars in the vane surface enable the droplets to drain by gravity back into the process without reentering.

The distinction from other types of mist eliminators in based on the method of liquid drainage. Available as fine mist eliminators for the removal of small droplets, and as coarse mist eliminators for the removal of plugging materials. Coarse mist eliminators are used as a pre-clean stage to a fine mist eliminator.

WET SYSTEMS PRODUCT DETAILS FOR LTH-2100

Vane-type (Chevron) Horizontal Mist Eliminator

The LTH-2100 is a vane-type (Chevron) mist eliminator design specifically for horizontal flow. It has a high separation efficiency for droplet sizes down to a diameter of 10 microns. The vanes are assembled in frames which provide the design vane spacing, gas seals and drain arrangement. Standard design have either one or two vane banks in series.

Advantages:

  • Most efficient of vane-type separators for capture of small droplets; with agglomerator down to 3 microns

  • Operates at high velocity

  • Retrofits easily into existing housings and ductwork

  • Special designs available for fouling applications

Material of Construction:

  • Plastics: PVS, Polypropylene

  • Metals: 304, 316 Stainless steel

Operating Range:

  • Face velocity: 2.5 to 10 m/s depending on type

  • Limit drop size: 10+ microns

  • Efficiency: 99.9% at limit drop size

  • Performance data shown in curves is f (face velocity) at standard gas density (1.2 kg / cubic metre)
Actual performance is based on actual process data
    (Conversion: 1 m/s ~ 200 ft/min; 1 mbar ~ 0.4" WG)

Applications:

  • Flue gas desulphurization scrubbers, HVAC systems, air washers, high efficiency scrubbers, spray system exhausts, air and gas coolers, spray drying towers, process-gas cleaning, evaporators, all applications where maximum elimination efficiency is required using a vane-type droplet separator

We supply:

  • Eliminator modules assembled for installation in a new or existing housings, towers, vessels; for air houses, air intakes, paint spray systems

  • Complete mist eliminator units with flanged housing and all necessary accessories
    Code and non-code housings

Principle of Operation:

The gas passes between parallel sinusoidal vanes fitted with strategically placed hooks. Droplets are separated from the gas stream by inertial forces in 2 steps. Coarse droplets are captured at the first hook; the smaller droplets are captures by the second hook after acceleration through the venturi throat created by the first hook. The collected liquid drains down the hooks into the drain pan.

The distinction from other types of mist eliminators in based on the method of liquid drainage. Available as a pure vane separator as well as an agglomerator-enhanced design. The LTH-2100 series is the most efficient vane-type mist eliminator, i.e. they can remove the smallest droplets.

WET SYSTEMS PRODUCT DETAILS FOR HMF

High-efficiency Ultra Separator Mist Eliminator

The HMF High-efficiency Ultra Separator is fiber-type mist eliminator. It is used to capture mists and aerosols in the 0.1 to 10 micron diameter range. There are 2 types: Type KM is for mists in the 3 to 10 micron diameter range; type BD is for aerosols in the 0.1 to 3 micron range.

The fiber elements, assembled in supporting frames or grids, are positioned in the gas flow for optimum drainage. Mist droplets contact the fibers and are collected by any of the 3 collection mechanisms indicated in the schematic. The collected droplets drain by gravity back into the process or a receiver.

Advantages:

  • High separation efficiency

  • More efficient than scrubbing, for sub-micron aerosols

  • Compact size when combined with vane-type mist eliminators

Material of Construction:

  • Fiber elements: stainless steels, glass fiber, plastics (PP, etc.)

  • Frame / grids: stainless steels, FRP, carbon steel

  • Housings: stainless steels, FRP, rubber lined steel

Operating Range for Type KM:

  • Face velocity: 2 to 2.5 m/s

  • Limit drop size: 3 to 10 microns

  • Efficiency: 99% to 99.5%, depending on droplet size
    (Conversion: 1 m/s ~ 200 ft/min)

Operating Range for Type BD:

  • Face velocity: 0.15 to 0.23 m/s

  • Limit drop size: 0.1 to 3 microns

  • Efficiency: 99% to 99.5%, depending on droplet size
    (Conversion: 1 m/s ~ 200 ft/min)

Applications for Type KM:

  • Evaporators, crystallizers, scrubbers, process gas separators, distillation columns

Applications for Type BD:

  • Chemical aerosols (e.g., sulfuric acid, fertilizer, chlorine manufacture), VOCs (printing, food processing, textiles, wood veneer, machining)

We supply:

  • Filter elements: for installation in customer housing

  • Flanged filter system complete with housing and all required accessories

Principle of Operation:

Mists and aerosols are collected by 3 basic physical mechanisms when they are passed through mist filters.

Aerosol particles makes contact with the surface of the fiber by the above mechanisms and form a liquid film which is either drained within the filter media or at higher velocities captured by vane separators downstream.

The HMF series is a family of filamentous (mesh-type) separators for use primarily in vertical flow applications. They are used mostly in "clean" applications (e.g. distillation) because of their susceptibility to plugging. They have a smaller limit drop size than pure vane separators. They are normal supplied as a series of "pads" for installation in the customer's housing. We use meshes mostly as agglomerators in conjunction with vanes because this is more efficient than using meshes alone.
